The Delhi boards of education
Delhi is one of the major education hubs in India. The standard of learning was always of very high quality in this city. But the recent years have seen it being converted into an exceptional center of education due to
- Its status as the capital of India
- Rapid modernization
- Fast economic development
- Exceptional growth of several sectors
- Settlement of more people in the city
- Demand for highly educated workers
All this has led to the rise of numerous schools and colleges in Delhi. All schools in this city are now operated by two boards of education.
CBSE – Central Board of Secondary Education. It is a board run by the government.
CISCE – Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. This board is under private control.
Delhi ISC Education board
The ISC Delhi Board is actually the CISCE. The CISCE or ‘Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations’ is one of the two school level boards in Delhi. It is a private body. It conducts public examinations at the end of the Class XII academic year in all CISCE-affiliated schools in India. This CISCE Plus-two exam is known as the ISC exam or Indian School Certificate Examination. Due to this, the CISCE board is famously referred to as the ISC education board.
The CISCE board is a private education board that holds school level examinations. It was formed in 1956. In 1973, it was listed in the Delhi School Education Act that recognized it as a body conducting “public” examinations. At present, thousands of schools in India function under the control of the CISCE. They follow the curriculum set by the CISCE board of Delhi.
